Introduction to Drawing

The class will be focused on line drawing using a still life set up. We will start by showing how to use the different types of pencils with different degrees of graphite hardness, demonstrating how a basic line can create a story and show a feeling/mood. The class will learn several techniques of shading to create depth, and how to lift graphite from a drawing to offer highlights or reflections of light.

About the Instructor, Anna Bruno: I have a passion and eye for all types of art. I won a scholarship to a private art school back in Elementary School and attended for 8 years, and continued throughout all of my school years taking art classes. I received a Bachelors of Art from Westminster College and moved to Moab in 2008. I fell in love with the Red Rock and outdoors and with this amazing community. I look forward to offering more of myself back to this community through my art knowledge.
