The Moab Arts team works to create an atmosphere of sustainability at the MARC and in our programming.

We work with Moab Solutions to plan and implement sustainable practices for our building. Moab Solutions collects the recyclable items, sorts them, and takes them to the Recycle Center in town. To learn more about recycling and Moab Solutions, you can read this document.

Reusable plates, silverware, cups, and napkins are available for renters. More information about these can be found here. 

 

In March of 2026, Moab Solutions conducted a recycling audit at the Moab Arts Center: there were 46 reservations, 3 artist studio tenants, our coworking space had 6 monthly memberships and 25 day passes. During this time 86.6 pounds of material were diverted from the waste stream: 21.30 lbs of Fibers (newspaper, office paper, chipboard), 30.30 lbs of Corrugated Cardboard, 13.65 lbs of Aluminum, 1.75 lbs of Tin - 1.75,  13.55 lbs of Glass, 2.80 lbsof Plastic #1 (PET), 1.95 lbs of Thermoforms (clamshells, #1 cups), .40 lbs of HDPE Natural #2, and .90 lbs of Plastic #5 (yogurt tubs, etc).

​The MARC is a proud participant of the Canyonlands Solid Waste Authority's Pilot Compost Program.​
