Moab Arts & Recreation Center, 111 E 100 N, Moab, UT 84532, USA
Learn to bind your own sketchbook from start to finish! We will explore the essentials of paper grain, folded signatures, and sewing by hand using the Coptic stitch, one of the oldest and most versatile bookbinding stitches that allows the book to open flat. We will also introduce and discuss basic tools: awls, bonefolders, bookbinding needles, and threads best suited for bookbinding. You will leave with your very own 5.5" x 8.5" 96-page handbound book, made with quality drawing paper and a beautiful exposed spine that displays your craftsmanship! All materials are provided, beginners welcome.
Instructed by Melisa Morgan.
