Bread and Puppet Workshop & Volunteer Group

Bread and Puppet is coming to Moab and we want you to get excited! Moab is lucky enough to have them for two days, they will be hosting a workshop and performance over at Swanny Park on Friday and Saturday, October 14-15th.

They are looking for volunteers and interested performers to be a part of three sessions: a workshop Friday evening, a rehearsal Saturday morning, and then you will get to perform in the show on Saturday evening! It is best if participants can be at all three sessions, that way you can perform alongside the group, however if you want to participate and cannot make it to all sessions, they will do their best to include you or you can come to spectate.

This is a free workshop and performance. 

Participants will also need to come wearing a white outfit (ideally long white pants, long sleeve white tops). They have some extra if needed but want you to be comfortable in your own clothes if possible. Please also bring some water, paper and a writing utensil.

B&P are requesting that workshop participants take a COVID test before performing with their group, the MARC has rapid tests available if you need one. Thank you.

Puppetry in Performance WorkshopLeads to a participatory performance! Bread and Puppet’s Our Domestic Resurrection Circus features diverse puppetry and street theater performance styles to tell vital stories of the moment. Through the lens of a rehearsal process, participants in the Puppetry in Performance Workshop will be introduced to these performance styles and methods. The workshop culminates with participants performing alongside Bread and Puppet company members in a performance of Our Domestic Resurrection Circus.No prior experience in theater or puppetry required.Time commitment: 3-hour workshop + dress rehearsal if possible (the more time, the deeper participation that will be possible).Participants are able to watch the parts of the circus they are not in.If possible, workshop participants should bring an all-white (and long sleeve) outfit to perform in.
