Artist Statement: Only a lucky few visitors get to see the spectacular waterfalls tumbling down the canyon walls near Moab after a heavy rain. Monsoon season in late summer in the best time to experience this, and since the falls are very ephemeral, their beauty is even more special. This falls is a short way up Highway 128 and is not one of the really high ones, but I was able to get around behind it and shoot out across the river. I used a very wide angle lens and of course, a tripod. There is some danger in chasing these rare events, as another photographer slipped on the rocks at the same location only a few weeks earlier and had a terrible accident.
