Artist Statement:
 
At a very abstract level, my work is about the interplay between regularity and irregularity at different spatial scales.  The ideas typically start out as "doodling" with pen and paper and end up as algorithms which attempt to mimic the doodling.  These attempts typically miss the mark in a good way: they lead to new and interesting images that I would not have discovered via a more direct route.
