Ever heard phrases like depth of field, aperture, shutter speed or F stop but unsure where to go from there? This workshop will deepen your knowledge of photography and teach you the basics of shooting in manual mode to further the impact of your photography technically, visually and conceptually. We will go over concepts for shooting digitally as well as film and learn the basic in's and out's of manual camera settings and the whys, hows, and whens to use them. Students should bring a notebook and a camera capable of shooting in "M" mode, film or digital is fine! Please email with any questions or clarifications.
About the Instructor: Samantha Metzner is an artist and fine art photographer currently based in Moab, UT. She specializes in historic and alternative printing processes as well as portraits and is adept at working across photographic mediums, including film and digital. Sam received her Bachelors of Art in Photography from Guilford College in 2015 and has since been featured in various publications and juried shows. She most recently completed a 7 month artist residency with the Southeast Utah group of parks including Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, Hovenweep and Natural Bridges National Monuments.
Class will be held in the Stage room.
Ages 16+
Participants must bring a camera and notebook (Camer must be capable of shooting in "M" mode, film or digital booth accepted).
