Moab Museum Feb. 2 ArtWalk: Breaking 100 Years of Silence
Enjoy free admission at the Moab Museum and explore our newest exhibition, Breaking 100 Years of Silence.
This art exhibition promotes healing and remembrance by commemorating the 101st anniversary of the Aniknuche Incarceration, which began on March 19, 1923. Through the work of Ute Elders, storytellers, artists, and musicians, the exhibit shares the enduring spirit and legacy of the Ute Mountain Ute people—bringing to light a century of silence surrounding this historic event.
What’s ahead:
• January: Breaking 100 Years of Silence — Ute-led art and storytelling honoring the legacy of the Aniknuche Incarceration
• April: Lowrider Culture in the American Southwest — celebrating Chicano creativity, identity, and ingenuity
• July: Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Trail — resilience, history, and Moab’s local connections
• October: How Did We Get Here? — a community exhibition on migration and home
Join us throughout 2026 as we reflect, reckon, and celebrate the many voices that shape this place.
