Artist Statement: I am a Moab-based artist who creates landscapes and closeups in a representational style. In my art I use the immediacy, texture and mark-marking of pastels, sometimes combined with other mediums, to show form, light and color. My work is influenced by the natural environment and cycles of nature. I focus on the Moab area and landscapes of the Southwest. Light, weather, and seasonal changes are frequent themes in my art. My paintings share the joy of a connection to nature.
